I have been a photographer for almost as long as I can remember, having saved my pocket money for my first camera at the age of 8 or 9.

Over the years since I have applied my photographic skills to my professional work. Although my original degrees are in Biological Sciences, my Postgraduate Diploma in Educational Technology includes Print Design. I have also studied Art History at undergraduate level.

Nowadays I describe myself as a a creative digital photographer.  I am a member of the Royal Photographic Society and have been awarded a Fellowship (FRPS), the Society's highest honour.  I enjoy applying my interest in modern art to my photographic work.  I also greatly enjoy using Photoshop creatively to make new digital art, especially still-life work with layers of texture.

I have had many works accepted for exhibition worldwide and have won several major awards. I have also been awarded an EFIAP award (Excellence - Fedération Internationale de l’Art Photographique) and a DPAGB (Distinction of the Photographic Alliance of Great Britain). In 2015 I was awarded the coveted FIAP Blue Badge as best Author in the 153rd Edinburgh International Exhibition, a print-only exhibition that attracts several hundred entries from across the World.

My previous exhibitions include:

Landscape and Light (Byre Theatre, St Andrews) 2005

River of Light (Dundee Botanic Garden) 2007

Under Western Skies (Dundee Botanic Garden) 2009

Off the Wall (Dundee Botanic Garden) 2013
